£80 per 60-minute therapy session. Appointments are available online across the UK and in person from my private therapy room in Middlesbrough. Sessions may include CBT, EMDR or an integrative approach depending on your needs and what we agree together.

Three structured sessions to help you make sense of what’s been happening, understand what may be keeping things stuck, and leave with practical strategies and a clearer sense of what might help next.
£200, payable upfront. Available in person in Middlesbrough or online across the UK. Please use all three sessions within 6 weeks.

Most people choose to attend weekly or fortnightly, and we can agree a pace that feels manageable and appropriate for you.
We will also review how therapy is going at appropriate points, including what feels helpful, what may need adjusting, and whether the focus or approach needs to change in line with your needs and goals.

If you have questions about starting therapy, how appointments work, CBT, EMDR or online sessions, you may find the answers below. You are also welcome to arrange a free 15-minute telephone consultation if you would prefer to discuss your questions with me.
Your first appointment gives us time to understand what has brought you to therapy, what you would like to be different and what may be maintaining the difficulty.
I will ask about your current experiences, relevant background and any previous support or therapy. You will not be expected to discuss traumatic experiences in detail before you feel ready.
We will begin developing a shared understanding of what may help and consider whether CBT, EMDR or an integrated approach would be most appropriate. There will also be time for you to ask questions and decide whether working together feels right for you.
You do not need to decide which type of therapy you need before contacting me.
Our initial conversations will help us develop an understanding—or formulation—of what may be contributing to the difficulty and what might help.
CBT may be particularly useful when current patterns of thoughts, emotions, behaviours and physical responses are keeping a problem going. EMDR may be helpful when distressing past experiences continue to feel vivid, intrusive or emotionally powerful.
Some people benefit from an approach that thoughtfully integrates elements of both. I will explain my recommendations, and we will decide how to proceed collaboratively.
No. You will not be expected to describe traumatic experiences in graphic detail or discuss anything before you feel ready.
We will begin by developing an understanding of how past experiences may be affecting you now. Depending on your needs, early sessions may focus on stabilisation, emotional regulation and ways to remain connected with the present.
If EMDR processing is appropriate, I will explain each stage beforehand and we will work at a pace that feels manageable. You remain in control throughout, and you can ask to pause or stop at any time.
The number of sessions varies because therapy is tailored to you and your individual needs.
Some people seek help with a clearly defined difficulty and may benefit from relatively short-term work. Others may need longer, particularly when experiences have been complex, longstanding or continue to affect several areas of life.
We will discuss an initial plan after assessment and review your progress regularly. You will not be expected to commit to an open-ended course of therapy, and we will make decisions about continuing or ending the work together.
Therapy appointments are offered weekly or fortnightly.
Regular attendance supports continuity, allows us to maintain therapeutic momentum and helps the work remain focused. We will discuss whether weekly or fortnightly appointments are most appropriate for your needs and circumstances.
Where availability allows, I can reserve the same appointment time for you each week or fortnight.
Yes. I offer online CBT and EMDR appointments to adults across the UK, alongside in-person therapy in Middlesbrough.
Online sessions receive the same preparation, care and individual attention as face-to-face appointments. They can be particularly helpful if you live outside the area, have a busy schedule or find travelling difficult.
You will need a private space, a reliable internet connection and a device suitable for video appointments.
If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please give at least 48 hours’ notice.
Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or appointments that are not attended, are charged at the full session fee.
I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, so please contact me as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
If you would like to explore whether I may be able to help, you are welcome to arrange a free 15-minute telephone consultation.
You can briefly tell me what you are looking for, ask any initial questions and consider whether I might be the right therapist for you.
